Staff Biography My name is Thien. My anime obsession started when I was 4. I never really watched anything else when I was 4-6, so anime was a pretty big landmark for me. When I was 7, I started downloading anime and buying Manga and movies. I shared my collection with my friends and they got into it too. This may sound weird to you all but anime actually helped me make friends. Some of my friends are obsessed as I am and anime brought us together. What's even better was that my school showed anime movies to the kids during lunch in a classroom if that's what they wanted. I lived my life around it a lot but I'm not one of those people whose life revolves around anime. My first anime I ever watched was Dragon Ball Z. It was simply amazing to me the first time. The graphics, humor, and action, all unbelievable to me at the age of 4. I thought all anime would be like this so that's when my obsession started. I collected cards, Manga, and video games of DBZ and moved to other anime like Rurouni Kenshin when I was 8. I would always watch Zoids or Rurouni Kenshin and DBZ with my cousin when he came to sleep over. We usually stayed up all night watching anime and I still do. Then the day my dad brought home our new computer, I downloaded tons of anime. I also started experimenting with other things on my computer and then started to like gadgets and gizmos. So I started watching Gundam and any other robot anime I could get my hands on. Once again I stayed up very late watching them. I also started buying Gundam Model Kits. Up to this day I enjoy anime on many different occasions. Either it's on the Internet, in movies, books, cards, toys, video games, or just a friendly conversation. I simply would just dive back into the obsession that began when I was 4 and has last for 13 years and is still going. Some people say when I'm an adult I'll lose interest in anime. But what do they know about my obsession? Nowadays I mostly just watch Naruto, Inuyasha, old Kenshin episodes on DVD, .hack, Full Metal Alchemist, One Piece, Shaman King and Mushishi (buts it's on the fritz lately). |
