This anime is only 6 episodes long, and has been airing on Adult Swim for a while now, and I have to say its f*cking awesome. This anime is hilarious and creepy and weird all rolled into one. The series also comes with amazing music to back it up. So getting to the story. I have no idea why they made it so short, they could've made it a lot longer just because there's a lot of questions along the way.

So there’s Naota, junior high boy who is good friends with Mamimi, the apparent girlfriend of Naota’s brother who’s away in America playing baseball. Yeah that’s strange but Mamimi feels the need to tease and play with Naota…yes tease and play with. There’s also this giant, I mean humongous factory that no one seems to know what it does in the middle of this small town. But everyday emits smoke/steam that covers the town. So one day, out of nowhere, a girl on a moped/scooter thing flies at Naota, and whacks him repeatedly with her guitar! And the crazy begins.

The girl has an insanely fast motor scooter, and her guitar is otherworldly, well so is she but that’s not confirmed until later in the series. So her name is Haruhara Haruko, she’s totally a flirt with Naota, and even his dad. In reality, she’s one of two of the most wanted criminals in space and the giant factory, the Medical Mechanica company seems to be involved with the other criminal Atomsk. But these two aren’t partners in crime, their enemies, except that Haruko is in love with Atomsk, so she came here looking for him.

Naota has Atomsk spirit inside of him and (okay its going to get weirder) after Haruko hits him on the forehead with her guitar, Naota grows a horn, and then it gets bigger and bigger. And then finally a robot comes out of his forehead…no lie. And then other things start coming out, like evil monster things. The robot, Kanti is connected to both Naota and Atomsk, and

Kanti can “eat” Naota to become much more powerful and transform into a large turret kind of thing which fires Naota as the main bullet. I swear this anime is insane.

We get side stories about Naota’s classmates as well believe it or not, and they’re somewhat more normal. Well there’s marriage affairs, and arson involved, but that’s more normal that robots sprouting from your face.

So Haruko decides to get closer to Naota by moving in with him and being the families maid, although I’ve never seen her do anything maid-like. She communicates with some other worldly people through a cat she brought with her. I swear I’m not making this up.

So the organization that is trying to stop both Haruko and Atomsk is Amarao. The lead guy there has dyed hair, and has a weird thing for his fake bushy eyebrows and even bestows a pair of them unto Naota at one point. His right hand is Kiturubami, she’s very skilled with weaponry, and is very attractive. When Kanti and Naota are fighting Naota’s father for the right to Haruko (yeah I’m not kidding) with uzi’s that apparently shoot rubber bullets, they get attacked by Kiturubami and Kanti fights her and wins. She ends up falling in love with him after that.

So this anime is totally messed in terms of theme, has no structure to it, but I can’t rave enough about it. The music is wicked, the anime is crazy weird, really hilarious at times, spectacularly drawn out, and sucks you into this world of robot popping foreheads. I don’t care if you don’t even like anime, you have to watch this one. If nothing else, it makes an excellent conversation; “A 200ft robot grew from his forehead?!” “Yeah, but did you see the hot alien girl that plays bass guitar?!” I can’t do this anime justice in words, just go watch it already, seriously, go. Later days victims of anime obsession.
