The rave of Ninja Scroll has been around for quite some time. It was produced in Japan in the late 80's and has been in the U.S. since 1995. So what is all the rave of Manga corps hit movie? We are about to explore.

Jubei {jubei-chan} is a wandering samurai often referred to as Ronin. In the opening of the film he appears on a massive bridge and the wind is blowing coarsely. He is on a mission to bring back a valuable sword that has been stolen from a poor village. He took the noble mission knowing he would only get paid minimally for his struggle. He retrieves it with ease and presses forward. Jubei stumbles upon a city of corpses and disease. There is a woozy looking women walking towards the entrance of the small village. She gets to the feet of Jubei and falls over dead.

Jubei stands to wonder what could have done this to the Shimota? The Koga are the special forces of Japan and are sent out to explore the cause of the deaths in Shimota. They get ambushed on the way and all get killed by a beast that remains in the shadow. However, one survives and her name is Kagero. Jubei saves her and says we may meet again and leaves. Kagero thanks him and when he is clear weeps by the river as fireflies are in the background making the moment saddening. The devils of Kemon are ticked that Jubei spoiled there plans and swear to kill Jubei at all costs. During the journey, Jubei saves Kagero from being raped and they decide to team up. On the way they meet Dakuan, a spy for the Japanese government. He is indeed wise and very skilled, periodically he meets up with Jubei and gives him hints and tells him new techniques.

Dakuan actually saves Jubei’s life, during a brief battle with this snake woman Jubei gets badly poisoned by a Chinese star. Dakuan tells him the only cure is in the girl. The rest of the story is spent trying to find what Dakuan meant and killing off all the members of Kemon. Can Jubei overcome these drastic measures? And ultimately love the girl he saves?

Analyzing

All ninja anime are not the same by any means. Blood Reign Curse of the Undead Yoma is an epic about love and dark neo-gothic creatures while Yotoden is full of love and sci-fi creatures. Yes all these anime have things in common but they all differ. Ninja scroll reigns supreme because of the quality of keeping harmony in the anime. All scenes coincide and all transitions are smooth. You just have to watch this anime to know what we here at anime3000.com are raving about!!!!!! This anime is rated mature for graphic violence, attempted rape/nudity, coarse language, and mature themes{doggy style}.
