Review* Gungrave Vol. 01
by Colton Haupt (Gatts)
I know, yes it has been a long time since a review has been posted by me. But don't worry, it will start up again. Today we just got affiliated with ListerX so everybody thanks them and visits their webpage.

This review is on the gun Anime called gungrave. It was made by Yasuhiro Nightow, the creator of Trigun so it has very nice animation, and for the most part stays consistent I actually gave this to my best friend Jen aka Kayo. She said the opening was bad but she loves the rest! I thank jen for the input in this review and I say the same thing. The story itself opens up promptly and leaves the viewer in a daze of gunfire. I was on the edge of my seat because this was great. In the first episode Grave is not really mentioned. You actually have to continue watching to understand what the first episode was about. Grave goes to an unknown place in the wilderness in the late part of this episode and he is attacked by what it looks like an alien mob. He comes out the victor and the episode slowly dissolves.

The setting and scene changes drastically the rest of the series. It opens up with a gang that is led by Harry Macdowell. His right hand man is Brandon heat. There are five members of the gang but I cannot recall their names. Maria is a friend of Brandon and eventually falls in love with him. Brandon knows he wants her from the start and they have good times together. Maria has an uncle that used to be part of the mafia back in the day. He is always scolding her about the mob and to not hang out with punk kids like Brandon Heat. The plot thickens when one of the gang members steals one of Malanda's merchandise. She is a very prominent lady and very wealthy. It turns out that Brandon buys the talisman from his fellow friend, to give to Maria. But what he didn't understand was if anyone found out it would be her death. He decides he doesn't want it, but his friend would not take it back.

Soon after Milanda's boys capture their friend and he is taken to her place, Harry leads his gang over to her place and strategically gets them out of the mess, but they all played the price of getting beat up and thrown out in the rain. The gang happened to leave Jolice their cook home and he was gunned dead by a killer, yes a old brother of a gang leader. I will not give anymore away for now but in the next dvd review I will reveal all I have not said!

Synopsis
I felt that this is a great Anime. The action is crisp, the music is very good, and the animation is historic. Actually I've gathered Jen and Sasha's opinions on this series and they both agree with me, this is proof I am not being biased In the end. I recommend all of you to go out and purchase this, (from our store preferably) but from anywhere. Well this is Colton Haupt signing out, but I'm sure to have more reviews in the next few weeks!
